Holmes County SWCD Board

Front: Harold Neuenschwander (education chair), Ferman Wengerd (secretary)
Back: Tim Brumme (fiscal agent), Jim Croskey (chairman), Jason Schuch (vice-chair)

SWCD board members are elected by county residents to represent them in charting the course for local soil and water conservation and natural resource management. SWCD boards guide the district, its staff, and cooperating agencies in efforts to implement a conservation program in the county that addresses management and conservation of soil, water, and related resources.

Board members are elected to a three-year term of office and serve without pay. They conduct one public meeting per month to oversee the operation of the district. SWCD meetings are scheduled for the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. If you are interested in attending a meeting, we suggest you contact the SWCD office at 330-674-2811 to verify the meeting date.

In addition, board members represent the SWCD at local, state and national meetings. SWCD supervisors are members of the Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (OFSWCD), which actively involves all board members from each of the 88 counties.
