Subdivision Program:
The planning commission is responsible for administering the county subdivision regulations. Subdivision regulations govern the division of property into smaller parcels and assist property owners in planning for the long term development of a parcel. Some helpful items to consider in planning a subdivision:
(1) Holmes County requires the access width to a parcel to be a minimum of 50’;
(2) frontage requirements are 50’ with 440’ of clear site visibility in either direction at the entrance to a public road;
(3) easements shall not be longer than 1000’;
(4) parcels shall generally be rectangular in shape;
(5) parcels shall have a width to depth ratio not to exceed 4:1.; and
(6) a private road that creates access to more than 5 parcels shall be constructed to public road standards, including asphalt pavement.
Listed below are the fees to complete a subdivision. Fees are set by the Holmes County Commissioners.
