Multi-County Juvenile Attention System
Holmes County is one of six counties that make up the Multi-County Juvenile Attention System. The Multi-County Juvenile Attention System is governed by a Board of Trustees and funded by the Joint Board of County Commissioner. The other counties in the system are, Carroll County, Columbiana County, Stark County, Tuscarawas County and Wayne County. The system, which began in 1970, was one of the first systems of its kind to join detention and treatment programs across a number of counties. Two distinct programs are operated by the System: one is detention or the secure holding facilities for the six member counties, called attention centers, and the second type of program is the long term treatment facilities for youth in need of structured placement out of the home.
The Multi-County Juvenile Attention System also operates treatment programs. Treatment programs provide educational, vocational and other services to the youth. Three group home programs, one residential program, and one community corrections program are operated for the six county juvenile courts. The programs are designed to change behavior and return youth to their homes, family and community. The following is the list of programs operated by Multi-County;
New Philadelphia Girls Group Home
Canton Boys Group Home
Roger's Group Home
Residential Treatment Center (RTC)
Community Corrections Facility(CCF)
The Multi-County Juvenile Attention System provides the detention and treatment services to the Court. Their main offices are located at 815 Faircrest Ave. SW, Canton, Ohio, 44706.
