Healthy Community Award

2013 Healthy Ohio Healthy Community Award

Each year, the Ohio Department of Health recognizes the outstanding achievements of communities that implement health related policies and provide a healthy community environment with the Health Ohio Healthy Community Awards. In 2013, fourteen cities, two townships, one village and four counties were honored for their roles in promoting good health for their residents. Holmes County was the recipient of the Silver Award. The purpose of the award is to improve the quality of life for all residents of the community. Focusing on nutrition, physical activity and tobacco cessation efforts, the award recognizes communities efforts to encourage employees and residents to make healthy choices.
