Who Can Get the H1N1 Flu Vaccine?
Based on the recommendations from the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice, the groups recommended to receive the novel H1N1 influenza vaccine first include:
- Patient is 6 months through 24 years of age
- Patient is 25 through 64 years of age who has a chronic medical condition
- Patient is a health care or emergency service personnel with direct patient contact
- Patient lives with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
- Patient is pregnant
Once these groups have received the vaccine, the Centers for Disease Control and the Ohio Department of Health will inform the Holmes County Health District that we can provide the vaccine to anyone. At that point we will make the vaccine available to all Holmes County Residents.
