Holmes County Airport Authority:
The planning commission serves as the administrative office for the Holmes County Airport Authority.
The Holmes County Airport was built in 1966 with a 3,500' runway and was dedicated by Governor James Rhodes on October 8, 1967.  The Fixed Base Operator is Mac Aviation, which offers charter service, maintenance, lessons and sells fuel.  The airport is governed and maintained by the Holmes County Airport Authority, a board of seven members, who are appointed by the Holmes County Commissioners.  Numerous grants have been obtained from the State Ohio, Federal Aviation Administration and the Office of Congressman Zack Space for runway resurfacing, obstruction    removal, lighting systems, road relocations, and runway extensions.

In March, 2009 the airport authority was notified of their selection to receive a $950,000 grant to relocate County Road 292, which is necessary in order to extend the length of the runway. Funding for this grant was made possible through the work and support of Congressman Zack Space.
